It took me some time to decide whether or not to release my debut album "From the Bottom of the Well" in 2020. So much was going on in the world and yet I had a stack of almost finished music ready to share.

Back then, I wanted to call my album "Depths". I had hit rock bottom in my personal life and found myself in the depths of despair.

However, I decided to go with "From the Bottom of the Well" as I learned more about the journey one takes through grief, and how we all come up for air eventually.

This special edition EP takes the original title "Depths" and shares four live-in-studio versions of songs from my debut album. All the sounds you hear on these versions are made with violin and voice only. I am performing them live in my music room at home and mixed them myself during last year's second lockdown.

The final track, "Towards the Light", is the first demo version of what later became "Injured Animal". This version is uplifting and calm, hopeful and sweet. As my professional life was crumbling around me last year, this version felt too optimistic and so I rearranged it to make it the pulsating, agitated, angry instrumental you hear in "Injured Animal".

I hope you enjoy this special edition EP. It is a collection I am very happy to share with lovers of the FTBOTW album, but also of my live performance and the raw, sonic experience of pedals clicking, high notes missed and a voice full of crackles.

Shout out to Cristian Barbieri who performed with me on "Trick of Light". His beautiful guitar playing and live looping is so supportive and tender, much like how he is every day as we go on through this life together.
