I am kicking off the new year (2024) with a revamp of the #xanimakes club! After an incredible couple of years of sharing long-form, instrumental improvisations, I've decided to change direction yet again.

Each month, you wonderful subscribers will receive an audio track that is created during my exploratory studio sessions. My exploratory studio sessions happen every Thursday in my little green studio space. I set myself a little task or challenge, and then I get to work. Each Thursday is a bit different depending on what I wish to work on. Think of it as your little behind-the-scenes.

The reason for embarking on this new routine for 2024, is because I have big plans to release a new improvised instrumental full-length album called "Four"; kind of like a sequel to my album "Three".

But I want to take more risks, and find new things within my instrumental improvisations.

Each month you'll get an inside listen to what I'm working on in the lead up to putting this album together. I hope that you'll enjoy the journey.

This month I set myself quite the challenge! My goal was to improvise pieces of music that were under four minutes long. My goal is to reduce this timing even more over coming Thursdays. How can I build and create tension and release in a small amount of time?

This one, called "A", was one of my favourites. And it came in at 3:30.
