In September 2023, I presented my first improvised concert in quadraphonic sound at the Melbourne Recital Centre Salon. A quadraphonic set up means positioning four speakers around the room surrounding the audience whereby each speaker transmits separate sounds. This creates a far more immersive experience of sound and music than stereo.

In preparation for this concert, I set up my music studio in the same way and explored the experiential nature of performing in this way. It was exhilarating.

My hopes and dreams are to present concerts in quadraphonic and even 5:1, or 7:1 surround sound in the future. I also hope to eventually record music with Dolby Atmos so that listeners can experience surround sound of recorded music in their own living environments.

However, for now, I have tried to create an immersive experience with this track that plays with stereo panning. I highly recommend that you listen to and enjoy this music with headphones to experience the full effect.
