This month's #xanimakes track is the first in a series of "pedal studies". Using one electronic effect pedal to inspire a long-form instrumental improvisation, a complete tonal painting is created.

The pedal of choice is brand new to my collection. Chase Bliss' "Blooper" pedal. This pedal acts like a normal loop pedal but with myriad parameters to manipulate each loop. It is a very complex pedal, but lots of fun.

"pedal study I" is one of my more experimental "out-there" explorations. There is not consistent tempo or rhythm, but through the use of additional delay, there is a forever changing pulse.

This series is inspired by my Wednesday Twitch series fro 2020 where I would perform spontaneous improvisations limiting myself to using only one electronic effect pedal at a time.

"pedal study I" begins with the Chase Bliss "Blooper" and then I begin to introduce additional FX such as delay, the Chase Bliss "Dark World" (reverb) and pitch shifting FX.

Find a quiet time to chuck on a pair of headphones and get lost in this pulsating, blippy, bloopy world. It's pretty out there!
